SLEEP BASICS
When we don’t get enough proper rest, our body responds negatively to external stressors. Did you know? Insufficient shut-eye slows your metabolism and increases your appetite. Get your sleep basics in order by creating healthy sleep habits and a consistent bedtime routine. Avoid eating big meals or using electronics before bed. Yup! I’m talking to you… the notorious social media scroller! This can make a big difference!
MODERATE EXCERCISE

The keyword is ⏤Moderate! Although daily exercise is recommended to promote and boost your health, overexerting yourself and excessive high-intensity workouts can add additional stress when you are already stressed, overwhelmed, or under pressure. Low-intensity workouts like walking and yoga are great to keep you moving without stress. Know your limits and keep exercising without overdoing it! Everyone is different and that’s ok as long as you’re in tune with your body. I would pick an outdoor walk or hike over a HIT workout any day but do YOU!
PRACTICE MINDFULNESS

Research shows that meditation can lower your stress levels and improve you well-being. You can use an app, visit a wellness center or meditate outdoors.
